About the Course

The QuickSteps Academy Diploma in Dance (Ballroom and Latin) is a full time tertiary dance course where students train alongside industry professionals in a working studio environment. You’ll be training 4 days a week, Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm learning dance, teaching and business skills. You’ll have regular opportunities to perform to real audiences, and teach your own students.

How is our Diploma “the dance course with a difference”?

We are different in two ways;

Latin/Ballroom Focus

There are multiple dance courses in South Australia that will continue your training in jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop and musical theatre. But there is only one that focuses on the disciplines of Ballroom, Latin and Swing. That’s us! If you want to continue to push yourself as a dancer whilst also adding a completely new genre to your repertoire then this is the course for you!

Teaching Focus

This course has a significant teaching component that will guide students towards a rewarding career in teaching dance. Students learn to plan and deliver group classes and private lessons and to teach to a high level. As part of your course, you will teach your own students in private lessons and group classes. You’ll learn how to keep your students motivated to learn long term. This course gives students an advantage in that they are learning a set of skills to place them ahead of the pack in an industry that is always looking for teachers.

Workshop/Open Day

The QuickSteps Academy hosts a workshop open day where you can look around the studio, meet your prospective teachers and learn some ballroom and Latin routines.

These routines are the material we will ask you to perform at the audition day should you choose to try out for the course
